Major James Harvey Olafson was in Vietnam twice, once with the, A/2/12 3RD BDE 4TH DIV and then he went back as a helicopter pilot, 118TH AHC 145TH CAB. Jim’s medic in Vietnam was a Medal of Honor Winner. Donald Evans was a very special man and gave his life pulling men out that were injured even when he was told to not go in again, the last time he never made it out. Jim wrote him up for a medal. |
